no mistakes yet

Last night as we waited for 2013, Zoe turned to me and said "Tomorrow is a new year, with no mistakes in it yet." She was half-joking- substitute "day" for "year" and you have a line from Anne of Green Gables- but it's true. And it makes me happy. I feel like this year has some serious potential to be wonderful.
My main goal this year (please pray that I will be able to remember and focus on this goal through the entire year!) is to strengthen my relationship with God. That's what's important, that's what I want, that's what God wants.
I've decided to read through the Bible. It's going to be wonderful! I'm determined to focus on God's words and grow. I'm going to be a third accountability wheel with Megan and Matt, and we're going to start in Genesis and Matthew and read through the OT once and the NT twice in 2013. The extra accountability will be good for all three of us, especially in the first few days of June when we will all be focused on their wedding and preparations will be in full hectic swing.

Nope. No big mistakes yet!
